Geography introduces the young child to concepts of time, his relationship to the physical world and cultural awareness.

Children are first introduced to the ideas of earth, land, water, hemispheres and continents. In addition, hands-on experiences emphasize:

• Physical geography (land forms, features, climate)
• Cultural geography (variety of culture and countries)
• Cartography (mapping skills)
• Passage of time (personal history, time lines, and seasons)
